Hardware design of a laser detection unit for pointing, acquisition and tracking

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated student to join our team for an exciting project involving the design of a hardware board collecting and processing data from a laser setup. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in FPGA development, PCB design, and testing procedures.

Tasks:

  • Review documentation to understand project requirements thoroughly. 

  • Design and develop a PCB layout with the necessary electronics components. 

  • Program and Design IP cores using VHDL. 

  • Construct a test setup to evaluate and measure the performance of the designed system.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in PCB development, (Experience in Altium is a Plus). 

  • Completion of a basic course in VHDL or equivalent knowledge (Optional) 

  • Experience C programming and microcontroller programming. 

  • Knowledge of low-level communication protocols such as UART, I2C, or SPI is preferred but not 
    mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or 
    a related field. 

  • Previous experience with hardware development and microcontroller program-ming is advantageous. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to document and present work effectively

Duration and Location:

  • This position is available as a working student or internship position.

  • The duration and location of the position can be flexible based on the candidate's availability and circumstances.
